Overview:
Program IV: Organic Movement’s 9th annual Winter Showcase celebrates the magic of the holidays with two one-act ballets: The Little Match Girl and Whoville Holidays based on the beloved classic, The Grinch.
The production begins with an original interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic New Year’s Eve tale of a young girl’s dreams on a frigid night, warmed only by the matches she had failed to sell. The battle between stark, icy snow and inviting flame are woven with visions of a glowing fiery warmth, scrumptious holiday feast, and festive evergreen as our young ingenue weathers the long, cold, final night of the year.
After a short intermission, the audience returns to be regaled by the story of one grumpy Grinch’s journey to discovering the true magic of Christmas! Featuring beloved characters like little Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch’s only friend, Max the dog, you will be transported to Whoville for laughter and joy for all!
