Join us for a workshop intensive for the BAK Middle School of the Arts DANCE audition where students can prepare and hone the skills required. The intensive will be held on November 30th from 9am to 12pm at the Lake Worth Playhouse in the Rehearsal Hall. Students will get a comprehensive review in Ballet and Modern dance, the two dances being evaluated at the audition. Students must also have a one minute solo dance ready to be performed for the instructor, as this is also a requirement in the audition.
The Audition Evaluation will be based on:
– Technical Execution: Body alignment, Clarity of Movement, Strength, Stamina, Endurance and Flexibility.
– Coordination/ Movement: Moving two or more body parts simultaneously in a cohesive manner.
– Artistic Ability: Performance quality, facial expression, dynamics, effective movement quality and projection.
– Retention Skills: Ability to learn combination quickly and execute them accurately.
Please bring a water bottle and a healthy snack as breaks will be given.
ATTIRE
Girls: black leotard, pink convertible tights and pink ballet shoes. Hair should be in a neat and secure bun.
Boys: Black convertible tights, solid white t-shirt and white ballet shoes.
Students should also be prepared to dance barefoot for modern.
